West Ham on red alert to hire Jose Mourinho after Graham Potter sack news
Graham Potter is already under heavy pressure at West Ham after an awful start to the 2025/26 campaign.
The Hammers are one of two Premier League sides yet to register a point this season, and are already out of the Carabao Cup.
As a result, sack rumours are already beginning to surround Potter at West Ham as his awful tenure continues.
While David Sullivan is reportedly not close to sacking Potter at the London Stadium, names are now starting to be linked to the East London club, including Jose Mourinho.

John Cross: Jose Mourinho may appeal to West Ham
Mere hours after he left Fenerbahce on Friday, Mourinho was linked with West Ham.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager remains in high demand, despite his short spell in Turkey.
Questions are now beginning to be asked on whether Mourinho could take over at West Ham, especially with the 62-year-old previously stating that he doesn’t want to manage a team in Europe for his next job.
Now, according John Cross via the Mirror, page 70 on 30 August, the Premier League is reportedly on red alert after Mourinho’s departure, with the Portuguese manager ready for another challenge.
The article goes on to say that the 62-year-old might appeal to West Ham given their struggles under Potter as pressure mounts on the Englishman.

Jose Mourinho would be a risky appointment at West Ham
While there is no doubt that Mourinho is a fantastic manager, it would be a risky appointment if Sullivan chose his as Potter’s successor.
Despite all of the 62-year-old’s experience in the Premier League, he has never taken charge of a club fighting relegation, something the Hammers look set to be doing this season.
Therefore, it is unknown if Mourinho is capable of taking on such a challenge and keeping the East London club’s head above water.

Games managed | 363 |
Wins | 217 |
Draws | 84 |
Losses | 62 |
Given everything that comes with the ex-Chelsea boss as well, it may not be an appointment that interests Sullivan, especially with the criticism towards the ownership at the moment.
However, only time will tell where the 62-year-old decides to go next.
