West Ham need to pay £22m to sign Tosin Adarabioyo

West Ham are likely to make a move for Fulham central defender Tosin Adarabioyo in the summer transfer window, according to reports from Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers are looking to bolster their defence in the summer, and David Moyes has earmarked the defender who has a contract at the Cottagers till 2024.

The report claims that talks are set to undergo between the Hammers and the player’s management company, Closeview Sports Management.

He has been watched closely for several months and it would take a fee of around £22 million to secure his signature.

Smart addition?

Signing a defender is a priority for the Hammers.

The Hammers wanted to land a defender in January, but they weren’t successful in securing their targets.

Angelo Ogbonna, who is set to miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, is likely to be given a contract extension.

However, given his age, he could take a lot of time to make a comeback. Craig Dawson is not getting younger while Issa Diop has blown hot and cold with his form.

In such a scenario, investing in the north of £22-25 million on a highly-rated defender makes sense.

Adarabioyo has made 26 appearances for Fulham, where he has scored two goals and provided one assist.

There was no chance to get him in January with Fulham strongly placed for promotion, but a summer move is likely on the cards.

Having said that, Moyes probably will look at other options as well, so he could be just one of the many targets for the Hammers.
