West Ham nailed on to sign Jesse Lingard - report
West Ham United looked nailed on to sign Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard, according to Claret and Hugh.
The online source has claimed on their website that after the Irons confirmed the future of David Moyes, Lingard is next.
It is suggested that the club will now work on agreeing personal terms and a fee with the Old Trafford club.
Lingard has been the talk of the town since his sensational loan move.
Without him, it would have been near-impossible to finish in the European spots, with no one in better form in the second half of the season.
Moyes has made Lingard his priority move in the summer window, along with another defender and striker to rival Michail Antonio.
Although all three are important additions, Lingard is the one that the club will go all out to secure.
Get it done.
This should be a move with few complications, especially after he was handed a big snub by Gareth Southgate.
Should Lingard have been at the EUROs, we may have had to wait until July to really kick on with the deal, and that would have complicated things.
Personal terms should come quickly and with relative ease, it is the fee with Manchester United that could worry us.
Despite never really using Lingard, there is no doubt that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have boosted his price after his efforts on loan last season.
The Red Devils will want as much as willingly possible, but it is important that we don’t go crazy for the 28-year-old.
Lingard wants the move, so do we, it’s time to make it happen.
