West Ham must secure summer contract deal for Jarrod Bowen

In the summer, along with making at least three to four signings, West Ham must focus on securing new contracts for some of their key players.

Depending on the position of the league, Declan Rice could be in high demand as well, and it’s one area they must consider. However, getting a new contract for Jarrod Bowen will be equally important.

According to a recent report from Evening Standard, the Hammers are plotting summer contract talks with Bowen and Soucek.

Bowen has three and a half years left on his current deal, but there’s the threat of Liverpool [Liverpool Echo] looming large. Given the Reds themselves are yet to solve Mohamed Salah’s contract situation, it won’t come up as a surprise, if they table a bid for Bowen.

The 25-year-old has been enjoying a phenomenal form in the past couple of months, and he has been hailed as “impeccable” by Micah Richards (13 February).

Indeed, he is enjoying the form of his life. Only Mohamed Salah has more goals and assists than him in the Premier League.

He has scored eight goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, but his performance over the last couple of months has reached a new level.

It has reached a point where one gets the feeling that the Hammers are getting heavily reliant on him to deliver.

If West Ham finish within the top four, they will be in a great position to secure the futures of both Rice and Bowen. Even if they fail to do so, at least they must tie Bowen into a long-term lucrative deal.
