West Ham must reignite interest to sign Niklas Stark on free
Niklas Stark could be set to leave the club in the summer and West Ham must reignite their interest in him.
According to Kicker, Stark, who is out of contract with current side Hertha Berlin this summer, will not hold any further negotiations over a contract extension.
It leaves the door ajar for the Hammers to snap him up on a free transfer in the summer.

Back in November, German journalist Florian Plettenberg [Twitter, [19/11/21], claimed that Stark is interested in moving to West Ham and that one round of talks have already been held.
However, a deal didn’t materialise for him in January when the Hammers desperately needed to add bodies at the back.
Nevertheless, this is an opportunity they must not let go of and it could turn out to be a transfer masterstroke.
The German international is likely to replace Angelo Ogbonna in the side in the long run. Ogbonna has just returned to light training after undergoing surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

In terms of size, Stark is a big defender – 6ft3in – and his record in Germany is fantastic. He has proved to be a dependable defender for Hertha, playing over 130 games, over the years.
Age is another important factor here. Stark is ideally approaching the peak years of his career, and David Moyes should look to get the best out of him.
However, the most important thing here is that he would be available on a free transfer. Given his age, experience, and quality, he would be a top signing for the Hammers.
In other West Ham news, a super-agent believes this Hammers star has been “snookered” by recent developments at another Premier League club.
