West Ham must pay ‘a lot more’ to sign Amadou Onana – ExWHUemployee
Lille are demanding “a lot more” money than West Ham United have offered for midfielder Amadou Onana, according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers have been in the market to sign a player to bolster their midfield after the departure of Mark Noble and Alex Kral.
For this purpose, the Irons have been linked with Onana but, West Ham will have to increase their £35million bid substantially to secure the signing of Belgium international.

“Lille want us to bid a lot more than we have for Onana too,” he said.
“The club will need to go back in with an increased offer to get this deal over the line.”
Tricky call
West Ham are coming off the back of an impressive season and the general expectation is to build on the success of the last season.
For this purpose, it is the right approach of David Moyes to look for targets who will not only strengthen the squad for this campaign but also for the years ahead as well.

Onana is one of those targets who are likely to be a great servant for the club for a good part of the next decade but it remains a tricky call whether the Hammers should spend the kind of money being asked to sign the player as historically, the club is not famous for spending huge chunks on young talent.
Onana has been a Lille player since the summer of 2021 when he moved from German club Hamburger SV in a deal worth £6.3 million.
Since then, the Belgium international has represented his current club in 41 matches across all competitions, scoring three times and providing a solitary assist [Transfermarkt].
