West Ham United transfer news as Mohammed Kudus update emerges
West Ham could sign Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus regardless of whether Lucas Paqueta joins Manchester City or not, according to ExWHUEmployee.
The Irons have been tipped to move for long-time target Kudus as a replacement for Paqueta, who will only be sold if Premier League and European champions City offer £95.2m [Claret & Hugh].
However, ExWHUEmployee reported on Monday [14 August] that the Hammers will continue with talks today over the Ghana international.
An update on Twitter read: “He is seen as the perfect Paqueta replacement but could still be signed regardless. Talks to continue today.”
Exciting development
West Ham have been in a rush to bolster their squad after seeing star man Declan Rice, flop striker Gianluca Scamacca and fan favourite Manuel Lanzini depart so far this window.
After a frustrating period of being linked with players but failing to get any deals over the line, the Irons have managed to bring in Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.
With central midfield now seemingly taken care of, David Moyes could do with bringing in another attacker before the 11pm deadline on 1 September.

Kudus’ arrival would certainly get supporters excited, as the Ghana international scored 11 goals and assisted a further three for Ajax in Eredivisie last season, while also contributing to six goals in six Champions League games.
It could be argued that Kudus would be an upgrade on Paqueta in the final third, yet there is now the prospect of both players being used by Moyes this season if United can keep hold of the latter.
It may have taken longer than hoped, but West Ham supporters can finally start to feel excited about the future if this latest development is anything to go by.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are said to be growing confident a deal can be struck to sign Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire.
