West Ham midfielder Conor Coventry desperate to extend London Stadium contract

West Ham midfielder Conor Coventry is reportedly desperate to stay at the club with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

According to Claret and Hugh on 31 October, David Moyes and Coventry are facing big decisions over the coming weeks.

Moyes has not really given him too game time to gauge whether he deserves an extension and should he be offered a new deal, the 22-year-old will have to decide what’s the right move for him.

In the summer, there were even talks about the midfielder being sold if the Hammers received a decent offer for Coventry.

The young midfielder has spent a few years out on loan and has done well enough there as well as in pre-seasons for him to be considered an important squad player.

He can fill in off the bench whenever needed and given Tomas Soucek’s poor run of form, we will not be surprised if Moyes decides to cash in on the Czech Republic midfielder in January.

Coventry at 22 represents the future of this football club as he’s come through the ranks and the fans do admire him.

They have watched and heard about him time and again over the last few years and it would be really sad if Coventry is moved on without being given a real chance of proving his worth.

We see him as a future Republic of Ireland international who surely will find a Premier League side willing to take the punt on him if West Ham do not deem him good enough for the senior side.
