West Ham may prioritise Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher after £35m Edson Alvarez update
West Ham may now look to bring in another midfielder after they look to complete the signing of Ajax ace Edson Alvarez.
According to the Telegraph on Monday (7 August), the Mexico international is close to completing a £35million move to the London Stadium.
However, the Hammers’ midfield quests must not stop there and they may look to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as well.

Sky Sports Germany reported on 17 July that the 23-year-old England international was in advanced talks with the Irons over a summer transfer.
This is a summer of colossal changes at the London Stadium and Gianluca Scamacca is just the latest to leave the club.
Declan Rice’s departure was expected and it was believed at the time that it would be the only high-profile departure.
This means that there is money to spend and Gallagher can certainly be signed as he would leave if he’s guaranteed playing time elsewhere.

While he may want to stay and impress Mauricio Pochettino, if the Blues sign Tyler Adams and Moises Caicedo, Gallagher’s game time will suddenly reduce.
If he wants to be a regular for England, he’ll have to play more often and that could see him leaving even if it’s on loan.
David Moyes could certainly do with a pivot of Gallagher and Alvarez in midfield with Lucas Paqueta playing in a more advanced role.
It remains to be seen whether or not the advanced talks materialise into another offer.
In other West Ham news, an update has emerged on Tim Steidten’s position at the London Stadium amid a £3.5billion-revelation on Daniel Kretinsky.
