West Ham may lose £300,000 per match at London Stadium after 25 home games

West Ham will need to pay stadium owners £300,000 per match should they cross the stadium quota of 25 homes games, claim Claret and Hugh.

Currently, the Hammers pay £3million per season to the stadium owners to play a maximum of 25 games at the London Stadium.

However, that could be exceeded given the fact that they’re not going to play less than 19 home games in the Premier League and three in the Europa League.

Welcome dilemma

The more home games, the more revenue will be generated through broadcasting and ticketing, so it is not that big a deal.

The Hammers have already progressed in the Carabao Cup and should they go on a nice cup run in that competition for the FA Cup and play more games at home they would pass that threshold.

Also, qualification to the Round of 32 of the Europa League would mean an additional home game played and the club would be entitled to a fixed sum of money after they win their group or even finish second.

Thus far, they’ve started the group strongly with an away game so qualification should not be too tricky.

The club have taken steps in the right direction and hopefully, the good times keep rolling at the London Stadium.

In the grand scheme of things, £300k per game is a small price to pay and one that GSB will be looking forward to paying should it come with added success in all competitions for the Irons.
