West Ham may consider loaning Armstrong Okoflex in January

West Ham may consider loaning attacker Armstrong Okoflex in January to hand him first-team minutes, according to Football London.

The 19-year-old has impressed for the Under-23s this season and would undoubtedly benefit from senior football for his development.

With the Hammers only signing him this summer, they will not be keen on a permanent transfer, but a loan move is certainly on the cards.

Makes sense

Okoflex’s contract at Celtic expired, making him free to sign for any club. The Hammers acted quickly and brought him to the London Stadium.

He came to East London highly recommended and has, so far, impressed Under-23s head coach Dmitri Halajko.

In July, when speaking about the player, he said, via the club’s official website: “Armstrong’s finishing is a real strong point of his.

“When he gets into the final third, he’s a very dangerous player. We wanted to do that tonight and he managed to take his chances.”

The Hammers must ensure that he continues progressing the same way and a move away from the club, maybe to a Championship or a Scottish Premiership side, could benefit him a great deal.

He’s not quite ready for the Hammers senior side but that doesn’t mean that he will not succeed in other leagues.

We’re backing him to come good in a couple of years and be a part of the first team by 2023.
