West Ham manager provides update on transfers

West Ham manager David Moyes has revealed that the club have “some offers in for people” at his pre-match press conference.

Speaking before the Hammers play Newcastle United on Sunday, the 58-year-old revealed that the club have offers in for players, but it doesn’t appear as if any deal is imminent.

However, one player who looks like they won’t be joining the club is Nikola Milenkovic after Sky Sports reported that the deal has collapsed [Transfer Centre].

This is what Moyes said on transfers: “We are trying to add to the squad if we can. We’ve had, and we’ve got some offers in for people – not everything comes to fruition.

“We’ll do our best to add to the squad before the end of the window.”

Will West Ham add to the squad?

So far, the Hammers have added just Alphonse Areola while Jesse Lingard has left.

So, you could argue that the Hammers are in a worse position than they ended last season in and while Moyes confirms they have bids in for players, he also doesn’t sound that hopeful of many additions.

If the Hammers didn’t add to their squad, then it would be such a shame after their sixth-place finish as they have the chance to add from a position of strength.

If they fail to, then there could be some trouble ahead for Moyes and his team.

The Hammers have a Europa League campaign this season as well as a full Premier League season, so they need to make some additions.

Hopefully, the bids Moyes mentions come to fruition for the Irons.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have lost out on a major deal.
