West Ham make initial contact with Jesse Lingard over move as free agent – report
West Ham have made “initial enquiries” to sign Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old’s contract is set to expire on June 30 after which he will be available as a free agent.
It is believed that David Moyes is keen on the attacking winger who had a great loan spell at the London Stadium in 2021.

Both Newcastle United and West Ham tried to sign the England international on deadline day in January, but the Man United board decided not to sanction the transfer to ensure that the Red Devils will have enough options on the attacking front.
Uncertain future
The England international made only 22 appearances for Manchester United in the recently concluded campaign where he managed to score two goals and provided an assist.
First under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then under his interim replacement Ralf Rangnick, Lingard failed to cement his place in the starting XI and made just two Premier League starts throughout the campaign.

Overall, in his 232 appearances for the Manchester-base club, the 29-year-old scored 35 goals and provided 21 assists.
However, the England midfielder had a purple patch with West Ham where he scored nine goals during just six months at the London Stadium.
Recent media reports suggested that Newcastle, who were keen on making a move for Lingard, ended their interest in the attacking midfielder because of his wage demands.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see how West Ham will find a way to sign the attacker ahead of the next season.
