West Ham make enquiries about Jeremie Boga ahead of potential move
West Ham United have made recent enquiries about Sassuolo attacker Jeremie Boga ahead of a possible late summer move, according to Foot Mercato.
The Marseille-born Ivory Coast international, who grew up in London, is in the final 12 months of his current contract at the Serie A outfit, and the Hammers could be looking to get a deal done before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Boga, 24, is also on the radar of the likes of Napoli, Atalanta and Crystal Palace, and Sassuolo could be forced to sell to prevent losing him for nothing next summer.
Another late bid?
West Ham are leaving it late this summer as far as getting transfer deals done goes, and some signings could be secured between the weekend and Tuesday night.
Boga has unfinished business in the Premier League after failing to break into Chelsea’s first-team after graduating from their academy.
Irons boss David Moyes wants to bolster his goalscoring options, and the Ivorian has proven himself in the final third since leaving the English top-flight in the summer of 2018.
Boga has scored 18 league goals and weighed in with six assists since then, and the Hammers could do with his creativity.
He will be available on a cheap given his contract situation, and it is one of the reasons why West Ham are looking to move given the higher possibility of finding bargain deals at this point of the transfer window.
The Hammers could be landing for themselves a hungry player keen to prove a point to Chelsea, and the fact that they are also offering European football gives them a boost in the race.
