West Ham make contact with representatives of Christian Eriksen

West Ham are reportedly one of nine clubs to have made contact with the representatives of Christian Eriksen over a free transfer this summer.

According to Football London, Brentford manager Thomas Frank is keen on keeping the Denmark international at the club beyond his current deal which runs out on June 30.

Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Everton are among other clubs keen on signing the big-name 30-year-old.

Signing him?

Eriksen would be a tremendous coup for the Hammers if they manage to get this deal over the line.

The Danish playmaker had a career-threatening incident at Euro 2020 and still managed to bounce back in the most competitive league in the world.

While he loved Brentford, he certainly wants to return to playing European club football and he will be handed the chance at West Ham.

David Moyes is known to bring out the best from players that are in the twilight of their careers as he’s done with Jesse Lingard, Aaron Cresswell and as Craig Dawson.

The Denmark international lived in London for a number of years during his time at Spurs and joining the Hammers would see him return to the city he once called his home.

At a certain age, players want familiar surroundings and he will be given that at the London Stadium.

Whether or not the rivalry between Spurs and the Irons is going on his head, remains to be seen, as there are only a few reasons why he would snub a move to the London Stadium.
