West Ham maestro Bowen has been tipped for potential England call up

Jarrod Bowen has been tipped for a potential England call up by Stephen Warnock and Leon Osman thanks to his impressive West Ham form.

The winger played a key part in the Hammers victory over Leeds yesterday (January 9) with his controversial involvement in the first goal as well as sealing the win in stoppage time.

16 goal involvements in all competitions for West Ham has led to calls for the Englishman to be considered for an international call up.

“I do see it as a possibility.” Warnock said on The FA Cup.

“I think he still needs to do more. The big problem is he has got huge competition in that area of the pitch.”

Osman added: “If he keeps doing everything, he is for a bit longer, he’s got a chance.”

What a time to be an Irons fan. The team has exceeded all expectations this season and our players are reaping the fruits of their labour.

The speculation is justified, Bowen has undoubtedly done enough this season to put himself on Gareth Southgate’s radar as the 2022 World Cup approaches.

The West Ham fans are still in awe of Declan Rice’s involvement with the national team so could you imagine the buzz if there were two claret & blue players representing the team in the most watched sporting event in the world.

Bowen just needs to focus on his football for the Hammers and not let any outside noise distract him. If Southgate bases his decision solely on form which, to his credit, he has done for all of his England squad selections since taking charge, the 25-year-old has a great chance.

He has outperformed all of his counterparts so far this season including Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish, Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford.

The Hammers winger at least deserves the chance to show what he can do in an England shirt and if he takes his opportunity it gives Southgate a real dilemma, one that Irons will embrace.
