West Ham-linked Divock Origi axed from Liverpool squad

Liverpool left out West Ham target Divock Origi from their matchday squad against Burnley.

The Reds played their first game of the season at Anfield and there was no sign of the Belgium international in their squad on Saturday.

According to The Telegraph, the Hammers are plotting a major move to sign the 25-year-old this summer.

The Belgian’s future appears to lie away from Anfield this summer, and we’re in dire need of signing a new striker.

There have reportedly been initial talks with him, per Football Insider, and the fact that Jurgen Klopp has left him out of the matchday squad suggests that he does not see him in his plans for this season.

Liverpool could look to sign a new midfielder to replace Georginio Wijnaldum and would welcome the funds from Origi’s sale.

We’ve had a relatively quiet window so we’re likely to match what the Reds are looking for Origi.

David Moyes would love a striker like the Belgian who would offer to be an upgrade on Michail Antonio.

While Antonio started the season strongly, his fitness record is lacklustre and we should sign someone who we can rely on to stay injury free for most of the season.
