West Ham keen to sign FC Koln defender Timo Hubers
West Ham are keen to sign FC Koln defender Timo Hubers in the summer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers are likely to face strong competition from a host of Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Southampton.
Promotion hopefuls Fulham are also in the race for the defender who will enter the final 12 months of his deal in the summer.

The report adds that the defender would cost around £6million, which is a bargain price for a player of his calibre.
Need for a defender
Hubers joined Koln from Hannover 96 in July on a two-year deal.
He has made 18 appearances this season and has helped the club move to eighth in the table with six games left to play.
A 6ft 2in defender, he would be an ideal replacement for Angelo Ogbonna in the long run.
Ogbonna is expected to return to action next season, and the club will extend his deal to one more year. However, a new centre-back is still needed.

West Ham were linked with a move for players like James Tarkowski, Nat Phillips and Joe Worrall in the January window, but they failed to sign anyone.
Hubers has played an important role in the second half of the season, having now played 12 of Koln’s last 13 Bundesliga games.
Considering his age, talent, base price, experience and contract situation, he could be a very good signing for the Hammers, but there’s a lot of competition for him.
