West Ham insider speaks out on Jarrod Bowen, what’s happening is not right

West Ham United are in real relegation trouble in the Premier League and their lack of leadership is now becoming a problem.

Nuno Espirito Santo is under huge sack pressure at West Ham, after guiding his side to 10 straight league games without three points.

The Hammers did get back to winning ways in the FA Cup last Sunday, as Taty Castellanos’ extra-time goal secured a 2-1 victory over QPR at the London Stadium.

However, the East London side still sit 18th in the Premier League, seven points adrift of safety and staring down the barrel of relegation to the Championship.

Jarrod Bowen is ‘not a leader’

Jarrod Bowen has been one of West Ham’s only shining lights in recent times, often stepping in to get his team out of trouble.

Without the 29-year-old, and his six Premier League goals this season, the Hammers would be in an even worse situation than they already are.

However, according to the Daily Mail, sources inside the club believe that Bowen should not be the captain at West Ham.

The forward is reportedly a talisman and not a leader, and walks around like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Bowen recently wrote an open letter to Hammers fans, apologising for the club’s recent poor performances and results.

Insiders reportedly believe Bowen having to come out and make public declarations, as he has been, is not right.

West Ham only have themselves to blame for lack of leaders

The Daily Mail add that some inside the club believe there is a lack of accountability among the players, caused by the lack of leaders in the squad.

West Ham have seen the likes of Declan Rice and Aaron Cresswell depart in recent times, and have failed to bring in adequate replacements.

Even James Ward-Prowse, who has over 400 Premier League appearances to his name, has been banished from the first-team squad.

It has reportedly left the Hammers without personality and leadership, and they can only have themselves to blame.

Nuno has to address the disharmony within the squad immediately, otherwise West Ham will slump into the Championship without any fight at all.
