West Ham increasingly confident of sealing £13million deal for Nayef Aguerd, no agreement yet
West Ham are closing in on completing the signing of French club Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd, according to Evening Standard.
Even though there is no final agreement between Rennes and the Hammers so far, the report stated that the Moroccan defender will be heading to London in a deal of £13 million.
David Moyes is said to be a huge fan of Aguerd and wants to make the Rennes defender his utmost priority for the summer as the former Manchester United manager wants to bring balance to his defence.

It is reported that the Hammers wanted Aguerd to come to the London Stadium last summer as well but the 26-year-old opted to continue his development under Bruno Genesio at Rennes.

Journey So Far
Aguerd has established himself as one of the finest defenders in Ligue 1 in the recently concluded season. We can safely say that his decision to stay at the club last season was right as he elevated his performances in the last 12 months.
In the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season, the Morocco international played 31 games and had five goal contributions. It shows that the 26-year-old also makes a good aerial presence in the set-piece situations.
Aguerd had a rating of 6.88 in the entire Ligue 1 season. He made 0.9 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game. Even though those are not astonishing numbers but he makes up for them with his passing range.
The 26-year-old had a pass completion rate of 89% and averaged 71 passes per game. Considering how vital he is to his team with and without the ball, he will definitely become an asset for Moyes and West Ham going forward.
