West Ham in two-horse race to sign Villareal attacker Arnaut Danjuma
West Ham United are in a straight fight with Everton in the race to sign Villareal attacker Arnaut Danjuma in the summer, according to Calciomercato.
The 25-year-old has been in superb form for the La Liga side this season, scoring 12 goals and contributing a further three assists to help them to sixth in the Spanish top division.
Four of those goals came in the Champions League which helped them qualify from their group ahead of Serie A outfit Atalanta.

No price tag has been set for the Dutchman but The Athletic reported that he has a £62.5million release clause that, if activated, would allow Danjuma to speak to clubs without Villareal’s interference.
Better than Benrahma
Danjuma is a primarily left-sided player and that puts huge question marks over Said Benrahma’s future in the team.
There is no questioning that the Algerian is a highly-talented individual but he has struggled to find a good run of form out on the left and the arrival of a new challenger might spell the end for him.

He could move into the number 10 role but that would also mean ousting Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini which would leave David Moyes with quite the headache.
Benrahma has already kept £25million signing Nikola Vlasic out of the starting 11 for the majority of the campaign but it would be a different kettle of fish completely if Danjuma arrives at the London Stadium.
His direct running and prolific abilities in front of goal would make him more of a goal-scoring winger than the creative flair that Benrahma brings and that is exactly why he is needed.
Moyes can’t rely on Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio to score all of his goals and Danjuma would relieve a lot of that pressure.
In other West Ham news, the Irons want to sign this international centre-back from one of their top-four rivals this summer.
