West Ham in talks with Rafa Benitez, he’s ready to accept offer once David Moyes is sacked
West Ham United have already started talks with Rafa Benitez as they ready a succession plan should David Moyes be sacked, according to Todo Fichajes.
The Spanish news outlet reported on 22 February that there could be a change of leadership at the London Stadium “in the coming days” with the Hammers dropping into the Premier League’s relegation zone at the weekend.
It is understood that the Irons are planning to sack Moyes and have already been in touch with former Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton manager Benitez about replacing the struggling Scot.

Todo Fichajes claims that West Ham have already decided they want Benitez to replace Moyes once they sack him and the Spaniard “would be willing to accept [the] Hammers’ offer and take over” at the London Stadium.
Disrespectful?
Is it good planning for West Ham to line up a replacement for Moyes before sacking the manager or is it disrespectful towards the Scot?
Offering Benitez the job now isn’t on, in our opinion.
Moyes has done enough for this football club to warrant more time and also the respect of the board to stand by him in a rough time.
While we accept that time could be running out for Moyes, we don’t like the fact that the board has been talking to other managers behind his back and have already made an emphatic decision on who should replace him.

If Moyes starts to see an uplift in form now, what happens to Benitez? That ship may have sailed for future managerial changes then.
It may also make Moyes wonder what’s the point in trying when his paymasters have already made their minds up on his future.
It’s fine to have a plan in place on who to hire next but holding these kinds of talks isn’t great.
