West Ham in talks with global giants over stadium naming rights – ExWHUEmployee

West Ham United are in “developing” talks with Amazon over a potential shirt and stadium sponsorship deal, according to ExWHUEmployee.

Reporting via The West Ham Way (22 January), the Hammers insider said that with changing Premier League sponsorship rules and the London Stadium’s naming rights up for grabs, Amazon are in talks.

With betting companies like BetWay not allowed to be teams’ main sponsors from 2026/27 onwards, the Irons and Amazon are exploring a sponsorship deal with stadium naming rights also part of the package.

ExWHUEmployee said: “The club are doing a lot of work behind the scenes, with Amazon understood to be considering a potential deal to be the club’s partner, with shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights, which could potentially be a huge move from the club.”

Amazon sponsorship deal could be game-changer for West Ham

Having one of the world’s most recognisable companies adorning the front of their claret and blue jerseys, plus the financial package this could bring, would certainly boost the Irons’ global appeal.

As one of the Big Five American technology companies, worth multiple-billions pounds, Amazon have plenty of monetary might behind them, and any deal to sponsor the Hammers would likely be the club’s biggest-ever sponsorship deal.

Throwing the London Stadium’s naming rights into the mix – despite the Irons not being the outright owners of the stadium – would only heighten this exposure, though might not be the most popular move.

Not only would the club not receive much financial gain from playing at the ‘Amazon Arena’ (or similar), given they pay rent to pay there, but fans may see that scenario as further detachment from their roots.

The London Stadium hardly feels like a home from home even when the Hammers are on top form, but as they look to bridge the gap to the top, few fans would turn down such a lucrative financial opportunity.
