West Ham in four-way race to sign New York City striker Valentin Castellanos – report
West Ham United are competing with four Premier League clubs to sign New York City’s Valentin Castellanos, according to 90min.
The 23-year-old has become one of the best strikers in the MLS and wants to showcase his potential in the toughest league in the world.
According to the report, his parent club Manchester City rejected the offer to sign him as they have already signed Erling Haaland as their main man up front.

With Manchester City’s refusal, the Argentine is now open to making a switch to a number of interested Premier League clubs including West Ham, Leeds United, Everton and Newcastle United.
It is suggested that Leeds are ahead of the rest but will need to fight off interest if they want to seal the move.

The young striker showcased his potential in the recently concluded season, scoring 19 goals in 32 appearances for New York City and winning the Golden Boot.
Moreover, the 23-year-old also scored three goals in the play-off outings to ensure MLS Cup glory for NCYFC.
If West Ham get Castellanos, he will definitely going to add value to the club’s attacking front, considering how Antonio struggled with fitness during the 2021-22 Premier League season.
Not only will it take the pressure off Antonio’s shoulders, but it will also help the Hammers to see the quality that the Argentine possesses.
Despite the quality numbers he has generated in front of the goal, the fans must not forget that MLS is a totally different ball game compared to the Premier League.
However, considering his age and speed, and especially how West Ham played football in the last couple of seasons, the Argentina U23 international is in for a treat. Castellanos has scored 53 goals across 126 appearances for his current club.
