West Ham in contract talks with Vladimir Coufal, agents disappointed with offer

West Ham United are still working on a new contract for defender Vladimir Coufal this summer, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist has shared that there is a gap in terms between the two parties, something that has left Coufal’s camp disappointed.

The Czech Republic international has the option for two extra years on his current deal at the London Stadium, and there is a recognition for improved terms.

Sheth shared the update on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, with Hammers fans surely set to be fuming.

“West Ham United continue talks with Vladimir Coufal’s reps over an improved contract,” he wrote.

“Gap in terms – Coufal’s camp disappointed with what’s being offered. Current deal up in summer 2023 with the option for 2 more years. WHU recognise his performances deserve rewards.”

Embarrassing.

You’ve got to be kidding us, how many times will we need before learning our lesson.

GSB are taking us for a ride and risking our best players, just so they can save some money here and there.

Only one day after it was reported that Declan Rice had rejected two contract offers, the same is happening with Coufal.

These are two of our most important players under David Moyes, and you have to wonder what the gaffer thinks about this.

Coufal is preparing for the biggest game of his career at the EUROs tomorrow, and this isn’t the best way to do that.

You want to feel wanted by your club, and the Irons need to learn that quickly and give our better players what they want and deserve.
