West Ham ‘huge boost’ as goalkeeper agrees London Stadium terms

West Ham United have received a “huge boost” as a goalkeeper has agreed to terms over a deal at the London Stadium.

The winter transfer window may have slammed shut on Monday (3 February), but talks over squad planning continue behind the scenes.

Contract negotiations will be front and centre of such discussions as clubs decide who they want to tie down to new deals and include in their plans for the future.

West Ham, who have already seen a young attacker walk out, have wasted no time in making one such decision if the latest reports are to be believed.

Mason Terry commits future to West Ham

Mason Terry has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Irons, according to ExWHUEmployee.

The Hammers insider reported via The West Ham Way‘s Patreon (7 February) that the goalkeeper will remain on loan at Hornchurch for the rest of the season after committing his future at the London Stadium.

Although the length of the contract is yet to be known, the aforementioned outlet deems it a huge boost for the East London outfit as the 20-year-old is highly rated by those at the club.

Mason Terry, future West Ham number one?

The goalkeeping department is an area West Ham will need to address soon as all three of their senior shot-stoppers are in their 30s.

As things stand Lukasz Fabianski will leave the Irons as a free agent at the end of the season, although there is an option to extend his contract by another year.

Wes Foderingham, meanwhile, turned 34 in January and only has a contract until next year.

Therefore, it makes sense for West Ham to invest in handing a new contract to Terry, who represented the West Ham Under-21s before heading out on loan.

There is a significant difference between football in the Premier League and National League South, but the goalkeeper has been getting valuable first-team experience under his belt this season.

Who knows? Terry, who has also had a loan stint with Concord Rangers, could be ready to be a part of Graham Potter’s first-team plans when he returns ahead of the 2025-26 season, especially as the Hammers need some young blood in the goalkeeping department.
