West Ham hold talks with Southampton for loan signing of Jan Bednarek
West Ham have held talks with Southampton over the loan signing of centre-back Jan Bednarek this summer, according to The Sun reporter Jack Rosser.
The Hammers have been extremely active in the market where they’ve made eight first-team signings, the latest of those being the record move for Lucas Paqueta.
However, as per Rosser, the Irons have now approached the Saints to sign the 26-year-old on a loan deal.
The reporter also stated that the arrival of Bednarek will depend on the future of the veteran centre-back Craig Dawson who has been attracting interest from Aston Villa and Wolves.
Good move
West Ham have made a number of additions in the ongoing transfer window and at least four of them have been defensive-minded signings.

Centre-backs Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer, left-back Emerson and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola have all joined the Hammers this summer on a permanent move.
However, despite all of that, the possible departure of Dawson will definitely going to leave a big void in the defensive line but looking at his age, it might not be that bad of a decision to let him go.
On the other hand, signing someone who is six years younger and has been playing in the Premier League for the last five seasons will be more than a decent move.
Bednarek has been a Southampton player since the summer of 2017 when he moved from Lech Poznan in a deal worth £5.40 million.
Since then, he has played 153 matches for the Saints across all competitions where 133 of them came in the Premier League [Transfermarkt].
This is certainly one to watch.
