West Ham hold concrete interest in signing Gerard Deulofeu

West Ham are showing ‘concrete’ interest in signing Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu, according to reports from Calciomercato.

The report claims that the Hammers are keen to bring the former Everton and Watford forward to the Premier League in the summer.

The 27-year-old jet-heeled winger has scored seven goals in 22 games in all competitions this season.

Brilliant signing

Deulofeu has been with Udinese since October 2020, where he initially joined on loan before making the move permanent.

The former Barcelona player has spent lots of time in the Premier League, where he played for Everton and Watford.

In between, he has played for AC Milan and Sevilla as well, both on loan spells.

He has scored 70 goals in his career, and would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers.

He is a versatile winger who usually operates on the left-hand side. However, he is equally comfortable playing as a number 10 or as a striker.

Deulofeu has got an excellent vision – his main strengths lie in crossing and delivering killer passes (2 key passes on average, per Who Scored).

He is blessed with fantastic dribbling abilities and equally good with set-pieces.

Moreover, he has got a wealth of Premier League experience, and Moyes shouldn’t hesitate in bringing him to the club in the summer.
