West Ham have to replace Michail Antonio to improve – Dean Jones

Transfer insider Dean jones has claimed West Ham must replace Michail Antonio if they want to improve next season, as per GIVEMESPORT.

The Jamaica international has had a hand in 20 goals across all competitions this season for the Hammers with only Jarrod Bowen tallying more.

Jones urged David Moyes to move for a striker in the summer transfer window to build on the Irons’ success this season.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “If West Ham want to improve on what they have done this season then that includes getting a striker that is better than Antonio.”

Nonsense

You would struggle to go out and find many strikers who would slot into this West Ham team and do better than Antonio at the moment.

His lack of form of late has left the 31-year-old under so much scrutiny with many seemingly forgetting where the Hammers would be without him this season.

He has been terrific, and he could have had an even better season if the club had signed a backup striker.

When he is on his game, he is unplayable but having to lead the line for the Irons almost every single game has taken its toll on the striker.

What West Ham need to do is sign a player who can gradually take over from Antonio over the next couple of seasons because he still has so much more to give.

That player can then offer him rest when necessary in order to maintain the very high levels the Hammers now come to expect from their key man.

The club needs to help him rather than replace him, he is brilliant.
