West Ham have no interest in a two-week circuit breaker lockdown

West Ham have no intention of voting for a two-week circuit breaker lockdown as the Premier League Covid situation continues.

Covid decimated this weekend’s league fixtures, and there will be an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss what to do.

However, Claret & Hugh report that the Irons don’t want the league to stop but could vote for the season to carry on behind closed doors.

They could also vote to fine players who haven’t had a vaccine yet to keep the league going.

West Ham want to carry on.

It is no surprise to see that the Hammers want to carry on with the rest of the season because they are well placed in the league.

Of course, given the current Covid situation, there is a real possibility that the number of fans is at least reduced because Omicron is spreading through the country.

That would be a massive shame because the fans have made a huge difference, but if that is the only way to keep everything going, then so be it.

It is also great to hear that David Moyes is going to crack down on the number of players in the squad who haven’t had the vaccine.

Ultimately although it is their choice, they are the reason that the games have been called off and something has to be done about the unvaccinated players in the Premier League.

So we will have to see what happens on Monday, but West Ham won’t be voting for the league to take a break.

In other West Ham news, Tony Cottee has sent the Irons a transfer message ahead of January.
