West Ham have enquiry for Jesse Lingard knocked back by Manchester United

West Ham have had their enquiry for Jesse Lingard knocked back by Manchester United, according to a report from ESPN.

They claim that the Irons finally made an offer to the Red Devils for the 28-year-old, but the Red Devils weren’t having any of it and turned the offer down.

So as it stands, Lingard will be staying at Old Trafford unless Manchester United change their mind.

Lingard to stay?

This saga has gone on for so long now, and now that West Ham have finally made an enquiry for the England man, the Red Devils turn it down.

What a bizarre situation we find ourselves in, and we just hope that the Hammers either finally move on or Manchester United change their mind and let the Hammers sign him.

It is not as if Lingard has featured much in the opening two Premier League games either, as he has played for just four minutes in the Premier League.

So what are the Red Devils doing? Surely they should be looking to move Lingard on when it seems pretty clear that he won’t get into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

However, the Irons really can’t wait much longer, and after having this enquiry rejected, they should be looking elsewhere as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
