West Ham fringe player Andriy Yarmolenko posts video to address Ukraine crisis
This is a very difficult time for the people of Ukraine and West Ham United player Andriy Yarmolenko is among those affected by the Russian invasion.
The 32-year-old has already donated £75,000 to help the crisis effort in his home nation [Daily Mail] and he is now back in training having been given time off by manager David Moyes [Official site].
The flamboyant winger has now released a video along with his Ukrainian teammates asking for support from across the globe in their efforts to defend their country.
Yarmolenko was, understandably, left out of Moyes’ squad for the 1-0 win at home to Wolves on Sunday but his return to training should see him available for the FA Cup tie against Southampton on Wednesday.
Last thing he needed
The 32-year-old was already struggling at the London Stadium with Jarrod Bowen’s outstanding form keeping him out of the team almost permanently.
Now his homeland is going through the toughest of times and all of that is a lot for one person to handle at once.
His return to training just days after being allowed time off might have come slightly too soon and it could be the end of his time with the Irons.

Yarmolenko probably needs a move away from the club anyway given his tiny amount of game time and these latest developments just compound his problems.
It might not be such an issue if he was a regular but all that time sat on the bench is doing nothing to take his mind off the situation.
This summer offers the perfect opportunity to leave the club and restart his career away from West Ham.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are keen on signing this 20-year-old striker who is banging in the goals at his current club.
