West Ham forward Yarmolenko charged with alleged misconduct

West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko has been charged with alleged misconduct for his role in an advert for a Ukrainian betting company, as relayed by the BBC.

The 32-year-old potentially breached FA Rule E8.5, which states that players are ‘not permitted to advertise or promote any betting activity that they are prohibited from engaging in’.

It is shared that Yarmolenko has until Friday (February 18) to respond to the allegations made.

Focus on football

Understandably all footballers consider other sources of income when their careers are nearing the end and at 32, the forward is nearing his hay day.

Although, Yarmolenko’s focus is undoubtedly best placed on playing football for now.

He has been out of favour for a little while at the London Stadium with the fans increasingly growing tired of the left-footed dynamo.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has only played 666 minutes across 21 games for the Hammers this season but has still managed to be involved in four goals.

That record suggests if Yarmolenko plays more, he could certainly do a job for the Irons with so many important games on the horizon.

He needs to be very careful with this ongoing situation and resolve it as quickly and effectively as possible to avoid any unwanted distractions within the squad.

West Ham can’t afford any drama concerning their players when they face such an important second half of the season.

With David Moyes’ squad so thin, he has to call upon every single one of his players from now until the end of the season, the Ukrainian included.
