West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen comments on ser-piece practice in training
West Ham managed to beat Liverpool 3-2 in their last game to move third in the Premier League table.
The Hammers scored twice from set-pieces on their way to victory on Sunday afternoon at the London Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen has showered praise for his manager and the backroom staff for the work they do in training to prepare for set-pieces.

West Ham have been brilliant in set-pieces recently, having scored six in six games. In fact, the Hammers have scored the most goal from set-pieces under David Moyes, 32 in total, five more than any other team in the same period.
While Moyes refused to take credit for this, he suggested that the Hammers “don’t actually do that much work” on set pieces.
However, Bowen has a different view. He revealed what’s going on behind the scenes:
“The gaffer, Kev [Nolan], Nev [Paul Nevin], [Stuart] Pearcey, Bill [McKinlay], all the coaching staff, we put so much detail into our set-pieces and I think we’ve scored a lot of goals off of them. It’s not a fluke, the amount we’ve scored.,” Bowen told WHUTV.
“Some games can be decided on set-pieces and we’ve had two goals from them – I’m not sure if the first one is an own-goal, or whatever happened, but it went in – and with Kurt Zouma’s first West Ham goal as well, I’m delighted for him.”
Impressive
West Ham have got big aerial threats in the form of Michail Antonio, Ogbonna, Zouma, and Craig Dawson, while the likes of Bowen, Pablo Fornals and Aaron Cresswell have been excellent with their deliveries.
It seems Moyes didn’t want to give away too much information on their tactics in training, and hence cleverly avoided such a topic by merely praising his backroom staff.

Bowen, on the other hand, spoke in-depth and even suggested that they consider a lot of details while practising set pieces, which they execute during the matchdays.
The winger seems pretty confident at the moment, considering the league position they are in. He even feels that they should’ve won those games where they’ve dropped points and that they should have been top of the league going into the international break.
Well, that shows the confidence is running high on the side. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain that spark throughout the campaign.
