West Ham fans have been jokingly warned by Carlton Cole about drinking too much
Carlton Cole has jokingly warned West Ham fans about drinking too much ahead of the game against Genk.
Writing on his Twitter account, the former Irons striker encouraged Hammers fans to have a great time, while also warning them not to get too drunk.
The Irons head to Belgium looking for their fourth straight win in the Europa League, and they will feel very confident that they can get the win and secure their place in the next round.
Cole said: “Big respect to all the travelling fans that have made their way to the game. Enjoy yourselves, don’t overdo it on the booze and keep flying that claret and blue flag flying high. For those that haven’t travelled, see you on the box tonight.”
A nice positive message from Cole.
Basically, the message from the former Hammers striker is for Irons fans to enjoy it.
It has been a long time since the Hammers were involved in European competition, and they should make the most of the occasion.
West Ham are on a wild ride this season and look almost unstoppable in any competition, so why shouldn’t their fans enjoy it and have a great time in the process.
Remember, they only just survived relegation in the 2019/20 season and now look at them.

David Moyes has done a wonderful job, and what a way for him to celebrate his 1,000th game as a manager in the Europa League in Belgium with a full away end backing him [Guardian].
This could be a special evening for the Hammers, and we can’t wait for the match to get started, and we would guess that many Irons fans are probably going to ignore Cole’s friendly advice.
In other West Ham news, one Irons player is set fly halfway around the world this month.
