West Ham fan makes Jason Cundy look silly as pundit makes Tottenham transfer claim
talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy was made to look very silly by a West Ham fan after he claimed a number of stars would want to join Tottenham.
The caller spoke out against the radio station’s non-stop coverage of Spurs, before going on to ridicule West Ham’s rivals.
Cundy claimed big-name players could be enticed away from the London Stadium if given the right offer, which Hammers fan Paul dismissed straight away.
He began by saying, “I’m getting fed up with all this Tottenham [talk] boys, what’s going on?
“You dumped Pochettino, you’ve got a rubbish football team, when Kane goes you’re not going to win anything.
“If you think Poch is going to leave PSG to go to that mob…oh it’s pony, who is going to want to go there?”
Cundy then replied, “I’d go looking at Tomas Soucek, Michail Antonio, Declan Rice and Said Benrahma.”
Paul hit back, adding, “They aren’t going to go there.”
“They might do if the money is right,” responded a defiant Cundy.
“Why? We finished above them, we’re in Europe they’re in a Scottish league European championship,” said Paul, concluding the argument and provoking a laugh from co-host Andy Goldstein.
Bigger than Spurs?
Paul had every right to suggest West Ham are as big as our North London rivals as we have the fanbase and stadium to match.
And this season we were also better on the pitch, so there is no reason why our key players would be enticed away by Daniel Levy.
We are getting better and better and have good organisation in the club from top to bottom, something Spurs cannot boast given their current predicament.
We think it is unlikely we will let our big stars go with European football finally set to return.
David Moyes has even said it would take the Bank of England and the Bank of Scotland for a club to sign Rice, so that underlines our desire to keep him.
Instead, the board will probably strengthen in the summer and find a back up to the England international, and surely another attacker to support Antonio.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign 23yo Spaniard available in summer for £10.3m – report.
