West Ham face ‘worrying’ Moyes stat ahead of Manchester United trip
David Moyes remains optimistic despite a ‘worrying’ stat that shows West Ham might struggle against Manchester United.
In 64 Premier League games against Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, Moyes have failed to pick up a single win.
The Hammers 1-0 victory in the EFL Cup in September leaves Moyes ‘really confident’ that his side can change that.
Times have changed
In West Ham’s previous 64 meetings with the so called ‘top four’ there hasn’t been enough pressure to win.
Moyes’ Irons are now fighting for the Champions League places come the end of the season giving the team extra incentive to win what are now must win games for the East-London outfit.
If United beat West Ham at Old Trafford this afternoon (January 22) they would find themselves one point ahead of us whilst playing one game less.

It would also give North-London duo Arsenal (20) and Tottenham (19) the opportunity to leapfrog the Hammers despite playing less games.
It’s an optimistic target but one that reflects the teams form this season. It’s important the Irons drop as few points as possible but more importantly take crucial points off those in the mix for top four, starting in Manchester.
Moyes did enjoy cup success over the ‘top four’ which will give him and his team a lift. All they have to do now is replicate it in the league.
The Premier League looks a very tough route to Champions League football, fortunately Moyes has a back up plan up his sleeve with the Irons in the Europa League last 16.
