West Ham early team news for Premier League clash v Everton – report

West Ham welcome Everton to the London Stadium on Sunday [April 3] as Premier League action returns following the international break.

According to Claret & Hugh, David Moyes is set to make a host of changes against the relegation strugglers with a huge game against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-final on the horizon.

With Manuel Lanzini suspended for Thursday’s [April 7] European clash, the Argentine is to start against the Blues.

After suffering a torrid time away with Algeria, Said Benrahma will be afforded a much-needed break on the weekend.

Issa Diop could also come in for Craig Dawson with the Englishman needing to be at his sharpest to see off Lyon.

After Arthur Masuaku’s display against Tottenham last time out could see Ben Johnson deputised in left-back for the Toffees’ visit.

Bigger fish

Europa League is certainly the priority now with the Hammers’ top four dreams seemingly dead in the water.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United all have games in hand on the Irons whilst sitting above them in the table and overtaking them might prove very difficult.

That’s not to say Moyes’ side should give up in the league and they certainly won’t as they want to round off this excellent season with a finish as high as possible in the league but if they desire Champions League football, the cup is the way to go.

The Scot is spot on to make a few changes despite a lot of the players having a nice rest following the international break.

Everton has been awful this season – particularly on the road – and the changes mooted here still see West Ham field a strong enough side to beat the Scousers.

Understandably, all eyes are firmly on the Europa League clash, the biggest game of the Irons’ season.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are “extensively” scouting England forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
