West Ham duo Coufal and Fredericks missed Everton clash due to groin injuries

West Ham duo Vladimir Coufal and Ryan Fredericks missed the clash against Everton due to groin injuries, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.

Fredericks last featured for the Hammers in their EFL Cup victory against Manchester United, but was withdrawn early in the first half.

Coufal featured in the Brentford defeat just before the international break and despite not featuring for the Czech Republic in the last week, he was still deemed unfit for the game on Sunday.

Huge misses

Ben Johnson is good but he’s young and unproven and there’s no guaranteeing how he’ll fare if given an extended run of games.

Playing in one-off cup games is far more different than it is to start week in and week out in the Premier League.

Dinnery doesn’t share a timeline as to when Coufal is likely to return, but we’re hoping he will be back for the next game.

West Ham

He got his much-needed rest during the international break and wasn’t completely ruled out for the Everton clash, which means that David Moyes still hoped he would be back in time.

Regarding Fredericks, his injuries are occurring way too frequently for Moyes to be able to rely on him.

If possible, the club must consider shipping him out in the January window or if there isn’t a market in the winter then definitely at the end of the season.
