West Ham don’t want to sell Jarrod Bowen – Ben Jacobs

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs suggests that West Ham have no intention of selling star winger Jarrod Bowen this summer.

The England international has been attracting interest from Arsenal who have reportedly now made an enquiry about signing the player.

Jacobs, while talking to Give Me Sport, suggested that while there has been contact between the clubs, the Hammers are in no mood to let go of their star player.

“So, there’s lots of excitement about Bowen moving potentially to a club like Arsenal, but it’s all hypothetical at the moment,” he said. “Because West Ham don’t want to sell.

“But Arsenal have definitely made an inquiry around Bowen to see what the situation is, but that’s what they’ve been told.

“With Bowen, West Ham’s stance remains that they really don’t want to sell, so there’s a lot of clubs circling over Bowen, but the challenge, much like Declan Rice, is persuading West Ham to sell during this window and West Ham remain pretty intent not to let him go.”

Superstar

Bowen couldn’t have dreamed of a better first season at the London Stadium. In a summer where the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku returned to the Premier League, not many focused on the emergence of someone like Bowen.

However, he has exceeded all the expectations at the club and is now a guaranteed starter for West Ham after a string of impressive performances.

In the 2021-22 season for the Irons, the 25-year-old scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

He was one of the few players to be involved in double-figure goals and assists in the Premier League season. He averaged 2.2 shots per goal and had a passing accuracy of 74% [Whoscored].

Such was his impact for the club that the 25-year-old was eventually called into the national team by manager Gareth Southgate.

Those developments suggest that Bowen is now becoming a near irreplaceable player at the club and it is important that West Ham’s hierarchy must ensure that he stays at the London Stadium for many years.
