West Ham desperate to change policy with Tim Steidten announcement set
West Ham are “desperate” to improve their recruitment policy upon bringing in Tim Steidten as their new technical director, according to a report by The Sun.
The report states that Steidten has held talks with David Moyes and David Sullivan ahead of his recruitment, where West Ham want to improve their success on the transfer front.
While sporting director Mark Noble and manager Moyes will still be involved in transfer decisions, Steidten will be the leader on this front with the German set to start work on July 1.

Improvements off the pitch often lead to success on it
Following their Conference League victory, West Ham are looking to set themselves up for future success by improving the level of staff behind the scenes.
For Moyes and Sullivan to have been described as “desperate” to improve their recruitment process is a damning revelation as to the previous state of operations.
Steidten’s arrival will help West Ham to be more consistent in their transfer deals, which have previously been very hit-and-miss. Last season: Lucas Paqueta, Nayef Aguerd, Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet all came in, with two of those four now heavily linked to moves away after just one season.
The new technical director is credited with overseeing the signings of several big-name players, including Serge Gnabry, Thomas Delaney and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as bringing Tottenham-linked Edmond Tapsoba to Leverkusen.
It seems as though West Ham’s behind-the-scenes recruitment has taken a step up, and they well hope to see the same with incoming signings in the future.
