West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku to jet in tonight and complete Beskitas move
Arthur Masuaku is set to finalise his loan exit from West Ham as he’s joining Besiktas on loan.
According to A Spor journalist Sercan Dikme, he will be travelling to Turkey and is expected to arrive at the airport tonight.
The Hammers will be covering a part of his salary for this season while there is an option to buy included in the deal.
Via Twitter, he wrote, “Arthur Masuaku is on loan for 1 year in Beşiktaş. The player will come to Istanbul tonight. West Ham United will cover part of his salary.”
Said his goodbyes?
We believe Masuaku may have said his final goodbyes to his Hammers teammates because the chances of him returning are slim.
David Moyes clearly did not fancy his first-team performances last season and is going out and buying a new left-back this summer.
For a while, it seemed like Masuaku would be the natural heir to Aaron Cresswell as the first choice.
However, over time, he’s been extremely unreliable and injury prone and it makes sense to cash in on him.
The Turkish club will now have a chance to see if he’s good enough for the long term as he’ll be playing on loan this season.
After that they will have the choice of whether or not to sign him permanently and should they do, West Ham will be compensated well for it.
