West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna could be fit for Europa League final

West Ham are hoping that Angelo Ogbonna could be back for the final few games of the season, including the Europa League final, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Italy international was suspected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

However, he has returned to light training and even travelled with the squad for the Lyon game.

Should West Ham make it to the Europa League final, he is expected to be available for that one.

Great news

The Hammers defence has not been the same since Ogbonna’s injury.

His absence was followed by Kurt Zouma’s injury and things just went haywire for David Moyes’ men then.

However, it’s good to see that Craig Dawson has elevated his game in the Italian’s absence.

He looks like a player playing with no fear and he’s doing his defensive duties exceptionally well.

Should Ogbonna return before the final, there’s a very good chance that Moyes puts him in the starting eleven.

The Scotsman will rely on his experienced players to deliver the goods in the biggest game of the campaign.

It remains to be seen how his fitness is in the build-up to that game and hopefully, the Hammers manage to get there eventually.
