West Ham dealt huge blow in Kurt Zouma move

West Ham have been dealt a huge blow in their chase for Kurt Zouma after Julien Maynard reported that the deal was now off.

Speaking on his Twitter account, the French journalist claimed that the Hammers and Chelsea had hit problems, and contact had been seized.

He claims that the 26-year-old’s medical was booked, but after initially agreeing on a fee, the clubs have now failed to do so, and Zouma won’t be joining West Ham.

Nightmare for the Hammers.

It had appeared as if the centre-back was almost guaranteed to join West Ham after a breakthrough in personal terms, but it now appears as if the deal is off [Alex Crook’s Twitter account].

Maynard doesn’t reveal exactly what has caused this deal to collapse, but it doesn’t really matter as David Moyes is back to square one in his pursuit of a centre-back.

Zouma had emerged as the Hammers’ number one target, but that deal appears to be dead now, and the Irons have very little time to try and find a replacement.

We will have to see what the fallout is from this deal collapsing, but it appears as if West Ham’s search for a centre-back will continue.

It is a total shambles, to be honest.
