West Ham could face exodus and have millions slashed off valuation in case of Premier League relegation

West Ham are reportedly facing a price drop of £300million in case they get relegated from the Premier League this season.

According to Claret and Hugh [2 January], given their wage bill of £135million last year, they will also have to sell a number of players.

At the same time, they will have to remain competitive in order to bounce back up as the financial ramifications can be devastating in the long run.

Doomsday

The Hammers have finished in European places in each of the last two seasons and have thus been spending money like a big side.

This means not only shelling out big money on transfers but also on player wages and it’s going to be devastating to back down with that kind of spending.

While that is unlikely as the side is stronger than most teams in the Premier League and if the decline continues, someone else will come in to replace David Moyes.

Declan Rice appears set to leave at the end of the season regardless of where West Ham end up as he has aspirations of playing Champions League football and challenging for top honours.

David Sullivan has recently addressed speculation over Moyes’ future but things change very quickly in football and we know that a few bad games could see him losing his job.

We’re hoping he turns things around and that the board gives him the funds he needs to help get this team out this predicament in January.
