West Ham continue to monitor defender Joe Worrall – report

West Ham are continuing to keep a “careful eye” on Nottingham Forest player Joe Worrall, according to Claret & Hugh.

The Hammers were interested in the defender in January [Athletic] and will continue to pursue the 25-year-old in the summer having failed to bring him to the London Stadium.

David Moyes and co will hope that Forest are unsuccessful in their Premier League push to increase the chances of signing the six-foot-three centre-back.

This is a move all Hammers can get behind. Worrall has consistently proven himself to be a very strong defender in the Championship.

He looks to have all the skill and drive needed to play in the Premier League and there is no doubt he will go from strength to strength under the guidance of Moyes and the West Ham coaches.

The Irons scouts must be very confident in his ability given how long he has been monitored by the club and they should move for him sooner rather than later if they are that confident in his ability.

It is imperative that he is at a level to come in and take the club to a higher level. It doesn’t have to be straight away with the Irons defenders they have now more than good enough to carry the burden of this squad’s success but in the long run.

The club wants to move forward and improve year upon year and Worrall might just be the man to help them do so.
