West Ham close in on Nikola Milenkovic signing after increased offer
West Ham have reportedly increased their offer to £13.5million for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and are close to completing his signing.
According to Italian media outlet Fantacalcio, who have over 750,000 Facebook followers, the Hammers are now closer to Fiorentina’s £14.4million valuation of the 23-year-old.
They expect the deal to be announced by the end of the week as Milenkovic will soon be jetting in to complete his medical and sign the contract that will make him a West Ham player.

Get this done
After constant updates telling us different things about our pursuit of the defender, it seems that we’re finally on the cusp of finalising this deal and bringing the Serbian to the London Stadium.
It’s been an arduous summer in terms of transfers, but we’re finally looking to set the ball rolling and hopefully, more transfers follow after Milenkovic’s arrival.
If we’re getting him for the price mentioned in the report then it is a fantastic deal and credit must be given to the board for this absolute steal.

Yes, his contract runs out at the end of the season, and Fiorentina were unlikely to quote a higher fee as they would risk losing him on a free next summer.
But, he’s still only 23 and a centre-back with a high ceiling – one who could be among the Premier League’s top defenders in four or five years if he continues progressing the way he has over the past few seasons.
His 6ft 5in frame would give us aerial prowess in both boxes and he would be an ideal fit for David Moyes.
