West Ham claim they will not sell to PAI Capital

West Ham owners are unlikely to sell the club to consortium PAI Capital, according to a report in the Evening Standard.

Club sources close to their reporter Jack Rosser have claimed that they do not like PAI conducting negotiations via the media and do not believe that they are actually interested in football.

According to them, it’s all being done purely to further their property developing business.

The aforementioned Standard report read, “A club source told Standard Sport: ‘West Ham will never sell to people like them who we see as property developers not football people and who conduct their negotiations via the media. It’s not the way business is done.’ “

Lots of back and forth

A takeover of a football club is never a straightforward process especially when it involves a side of West Ham’s stature in the most profitable area of the richest football league in the world.

We’ve disliked the ways of David Gold and David Sullivan for years and we’re finally seeing movements towards there being an external force looking to oust them and take over the club.

From what PAI have proposed, they seem to be in it for more than the property reasons the owners claim to believe, and they do have a fundamental plan of taking this club forward which includes taking ownership of the stadium.

They’ve stated that they plan to overhaul the stadium and the area surrounding it, but nothing can be done unless they have control over proceedings at the club.

The club have agreed a 99-year lease in 2016 with LLDC, who own and manage the stadium.

This is far from over and we’re hoping that something good comes from out.
