Chris Sutton predicts result of West Ham United clash v Aston Villa in Premier League
Chris Sutton has predicted a 1-1 scoreline in the Premier League clash between West Ham and Aston Villa on 12 March, branding the Villans as really awkward opponents.
Speaking to BBC Sport (9 March) in his weekly predictions piece, Sutton confessed that the 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton last time around was “absolute humiliation” for the Hammers.
Sutton reiterated the fact that David Moyes desperately needs a win in this one but believes a stalemate between the sides is the likely outcome.

“Things were bad for West Ham last week. Very bad. Their defeat by Brighton was an absolute humiliation because they were pummelled,” said Sutton to BBC SPORT. (9 March)
“I could copy and paste what I said before West Ham played Forest a couple of weeks ago – Hammers boss David Moyes needs a result here. They beat Forest 4-0 and got everyone thinking that West Ham were back, but Aston Villa are really awkward opponents.
“There is no way Villa are getting beaten like that, and I am not sure a draw will keep the Hammers fans happy.
“I actually really fancy Villa to win this but Danny Ings will be up front for the Hammers against his former club, so he is going to score.”

Finding form.
West Ham haven’t put together a string of good results at any given time so far this season and this is largely down to Moyes’ inept tactics.
The board must at least be putting together a plan to replace the Scot at some point because right now, it feels like the team are going around in circles.
Six weeks over the FIFA World Cup break would have arguably been the best time to do this, however, the club chose against acting and stood by Moyes yet again.
This was a questionable call and one which hasn’t paid dividends for them thus far and a decision which has gotten the Hammers faithful even more riled up.
A chorus of boos and chants aimed at the Scot can be heard on the regular now at West Ham games and it’s hard to see this not occurring unless he performs some form of miracle between now and the end of the season.
