West Ham can sign Gerard Deulofeu in summer as winger keen to leave

Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu will reportedly leave Udinese in the summer, and West Ham can snap him up.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, who has worked with transfer experts like Gianluca Di Marzio, has claimed that the 28-year-old wants to leave Italy with teams from Premier League having enquired about his availability.

The Spaniard would be available for around £12.4m – £15m in the summer, but there is also an offer to extend his deal at the club.

Matteo wrote on Twitter: “Deulofeu has taken command of Udinese: 10 goals in the Italian League so far. He will leave in the summer for 15-18 million (Euros) and if he stays in Italy it is an easy signing at salary level due to tax law: the winger earns 3M net. Teams from the Serie A and the Premier League have already asked.”

Moretto didn’t mention West Ham as one of his suitors, but the Hammers are thought to be one of his admirers.

ExWHUemployee said in March on West Ham Way podcast that the Hammers are interested in signing the attacker who is on good terms with Pablo Fornals.

The Hammers are expected to scout loads of players in the summer, and it seems the former Watford winger is just one of the many candidates they have looked at.

Certainly, he can be a very good addition. He is skilful, technically gifted, and has reached the peak years of his career. He has been in superb form this season, having scored 10 goals.

The Hammers can expect to get the best 2-3 years out of him if they sign him now.

Most importantly he has got loads of Premier League experience as well, which means he is unlikely to take a longer time to settle down.

The price quoted for him looks perfect, considering his age and quality, but there is always room for negotiation.

The Spaniard is a versatile forward who can play in multiple positions upfront and that is something Moyes should carefully look at.

Having said that, journalist Paul Brown has claimed on GiveMeSport that he is not a top priority for the club, but his situation can change in a few months’ time.

In other West Ham news, Alan Brazil has mooted the Irons completing a “shock” swoop to sign a striker who Moyes knows.
